Dates:
Sunday 26th February - Picture Gallery Painting - Gill Walton
This course takes full advantage of Paxton House’s best asset and will give a fuller understanding of the artwork in it. Participants will choose a painting and develop a piece of work based on that painting or an aspect of it. This need not be a direct copy but a unique work inspired by great art.
Sunday 25th March - Portraiture at Paxton - Oliver Reed
This exciting drawing course focuses on portraiture, bringing the house to life through working from a model, creating portraits within the interior space of Paxton House.
Sunday 29th April - Portraiture at Paxton - Gill Walton
Hanging on the walls at Paxton House are some fascinating portraits using interesting techniques. This course is inspired by these; aided by digital photography, Victorian ingenuity and observational drawing you will produce a very modern portrait.
Sunday 27th May - Drawing from Adam - Oliver Reed
This drawing and painting course is aimed at exploring the ‘Adam’ style of architecture in a context, through developing studies from various locations around the grounds. You will start to develop a series of drawings, sketches and studies, which we shall develop into paintings during the afternoon session.
Sunday 17th June - Discovering the Tweed - Oliver Reed
This challenging drawing and painting course focuses on the famous river Tweed, exploring expressive, ways to capture the movement, reflection and light of the river and the life around the river bank.
Sunday 29th July - Discovering the Tweed - Gill Walton
This challenging drawing and painting course focuses on the famous river Tweed, exploring expressively, ways to capture movement, reflection and light of the river and the life around the river bank.
Sunday 26th August - Drawing from Adam - Oliver Reed

This drawing course aims to capture an essence of the interior spaces of Paxton House, the interior design, decoration and furniture of some of the rooms through focusing on various compositional spaces.
Sunday 28th October - Portraiture at Paxton - Gill Walton
