Weddings and Civil Ceremonies
Standing in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Border countryside, and surrounded by 80 acres of stunning parkland, woodland and gardens is Paxton House. Overlooking the majestic River Tweed not far from the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, this is a delightful setting for your special day.
The ceremony can be held in the magnificent Regency Picture Gallery added to the house in 1812, first re-decorated in 1874 for a wedding and restored recently to its former beauty. The gallery is the largest in any house in Scotland and can seat up to 140 guests. Smaller intimate ceremonies of up to 40 people can be held in either the Drawing Room or the Library or for something a bit different how about the Boat House by the River or an outdoor event on the lawn.
You can hold your reception and evening party in the Hayloft Gallery which comfortably caters for 80 people. Small exclusive receptions of up to 40 people can be held in the Dining Room alternatively a luxury marquee on the Gallery Lawn can hold the largest of bridal parties.
Paxton House also provides the perfect setting for your wedding photographs which can be taken against the charming backdrop of the grounds and gardens or within the elegant splendour of the house itself.
